A suspected serial robber has been charged with burglary, robbery and fraud after allegedly carrying out a string of thefts across Gravesend.

Stephan Adi, of Darnley Street, Gravesend, has been charged with three offences remanded in custody to appear Woolwich Crown after being three separate incidents.

Kent Police were called to Commercial Place in Gravesend on December 29, 2019, to reports that a woman had been assaulted.

Her handbag was stolen, and later that night it is alleged that a fraudulent transaction was made at a shop in Norfolk Road using the victim's bank card.

A second case, also linked to the suspect, took some time between January 29 and February 27 after officers received a report that a burglary had taken place at an address in Darnley Street.

Two televisions, two pairs of trainers and some cash was reported stolen from the property located on the suspects own street.

Police investigated, and on Monday, March 2, Stephan Adi was arrested and charged with robbery, burglary and fraud.

The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 3.

At the hearing, he was further remanded to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
