THE annual meeting this month was attended by president Malcom Barr-Hamilton, local studies officer of Tower Hamlets, announced some changes to be made.
Chairman Eric Percival, retiring after some years, was thanked for his long and willing service and presented with a token of the society's thanks for all he has done.
His successor as chairman is John Charles and new committee member is Philip Wilson.
Liz Ellicott reported on her first full year as secretary, while Janet Cooper gave news of a healthy bank balance and the committee was re-elected unchanged.
Mention was made about setting up a society web page.
Frances Percival recorded a successful series of outings and Denise Baldwin was thanked for her arrangements as programme secretary.
This was followed by an item on the celebration of a Hundred Years of Scouting which was the subject of the Society's contribution to Bexley Council Local Studies Fair earlier in the year.
Its compilers, Denise Baldwin and Kathy Harding, followed up with an account of Baden- Powell's life.
