A plane was forced to burn excess fuel over Biggin Hill after it suffered a tail strike on departure from Heathrow.
The Qantas flight was forced to return to Heathrow, as it incurred damage in take-off, likely due to the stormy conditions.
Planes need to burn excess fuel so they are not too heavy to land so soon after take-off.
Aircraft Information UK tweeted: "Qantas #QF10 to Perth suffered a tail strike after taking off from London Heathrow and is currently returning to Heathrow after burning fuel over Southeast London and Biggin Hill."
