Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a one-year-old puppy from a flat fire on Frances Street in Woolwich.
The Brigade was called at 12:57pm and were able to get the fire under control at around 1:49pm.
Around two fire engines and ten firefighters from Plumstead and East Greenwich attended the scene where they found a small part of a five roomed flat on the sixth floor was damaged by fire.
Firefighters were able to remove the Bullmastiff puppy from inside the affected flat.
The puppy was safely returned to its owner.
There were no reports of any injuries however, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
