Police have now charged a man in Essex on suspicion of murder after a 44-year-old man was stabbed to death in Northfleet on Tuesday.

Kent Police were called to an address on Hampton Road at 2:46pm on Tuesday, February 4, and found a man with serious injuries consistent with stab wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 4:30pm on the same day, detectives investigating the murder arrested 28-year-old Harry Harris on suspicion of murder.

He was detained in Chelmsford and on Thursday, February 6, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Mr Harris.

He is also charged with possession of a knife and is remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court.
