A 16-year-old from Lewisham has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager stabbed to death in a street in Warwickshire.

The accused, who cannot legally be named because of his age, appeared at Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court on Monday (January 27) charged over the death of 17-year-old Nasir Patrice, according to Warwickshire Police.

The 16-year-old also faces charges of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, kidnap and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Patrice, from Birmingham, was stabbed on Tachbrook Road at around 11am on January 15, whilst another man was taken to hospital with injuries.

In connection with the murder, Warwickshire Police have also charged another Londoner, 18-year-old Richard Talawila from Harrow, with kidnap and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A court spokesman said the boy charged with murder had been remanded to appear before a judge at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

A total of six people have now been arrested in connection to the stabbing, with four men (three of them teenagers) arrested and released on police bail as enquires continue.
