Police say CCTV images of a vehicle that reportedly approached a group of children could be a ‘possible misunderstanding’ after photos were re-shared online.

Police were called after three children reportedly had to run to safety, after being approached by a man in a car on St Vincent's Road, Dartford.

The incident happened around the hours of 3.55 pm on January 22.

A spokesperson from the police said:

“There was no physical contact and the children did not engage in conversation with the man.

“Initial enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident have been carried out and no offences have been identified.

“It is believed there were other children in the car the man was driving, and there may have been a misunderstanding.

Parents believe the driver in question, matches the description of a driver who approached a child in Erith on 24 January.
