The Glades is offering shoppers the opportunity to pop a room full of bubble wrap to beat the January blues.

In celebration of National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, shoppers are invited into a completely wrapped room, named Pop, where over 18s can test their bursting abilities between Friday 24-27.

Prizes up for grabs and a high-tech 'Mood-o-Meter' will enable guests to see how much squishing air-filled sheets will put the pep back in their step.

Mark Haynes, Director of The Glades, said: “January can be a tricky month to navigate now the festive celebrations are a distant memory, poor weather is ruining umbrella after umbrella and having the longest wait for pay day.

“To combat this, we’re encouraging people to literally take things into their own hands, with a relaxing and fun session puncturing packaging at The Glades.

"Our Pop room offers visitors the opportunity to leave all their worries at the door and have a stress-busting time through the healing medium of this much-loved wrapping.

“A lot of the time, it’s the simplest pleasures in life that can turn a dull day into something positively unforgettable,” Mark added.

“We are excited to help the people of Bromley get re-energised and full of beans again.”

National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day was started by a US radio station in 2001 and has been celebrated on the last Monday of January ever since.

The Glades will be working with Terracycle, a specialist recycling company that takes care of unusual materials.

Pop will feature biodegradable bubble wrap, with all the materials from the event to be either be recycled or repurposed.
