A teenager from Hither Green has been charged after a man was stabbed repeatedly travelling on a train through west London.

The 16-year-old boy, arrested on Sunday, is accused of wounding with intent and threatening a person with a blade.

Police were called to Hounslow station shortly before 6.30pm (January 19), where they found a man in his 30s who was treated for multiple stab injuries.

He was taken to hospital, where his non-life-threatening condition was treated.

A 15-year-old girl was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. She has since been released on bail.

Enquiries are underway, but it is believed the stabbing happened on board a service travelling between Ashford and Hounslow.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers are aware a number of other passengers were on board and would have witnessed what happened.

"Therefore, if you were on board and haven’t already spoken with police, please get in touch."
