An armed man who was caught by police in Shrublands after a foot chase has been jailed for six months.
Josiah Johnson, 22, of Meadow Road, Kennington, was sentenced at Camberwell Green on January 15 to six months for possession of points and blades, possession of cannabis and obstructing a constable.
Bromley police attended a call on Shrublands Avenue on January 10, following reports of drug dealing in the area.
Jonson fled the scene of foot on their arrival, eventually being caught and searched under stop and search powers.
Officers found a large knife tucked into his waistband and a quantity of cannabis.
Sergeant Maskell said: “Officers from my team have detained a highly dangerous individual.
"This epitomises the value of Stop and Search as an effective tactic and may have prevented a murder."
