A cocaine dealer from Deptford was caught with more than £1000 in cash and a £500 stash when pulled over by police in Tunbridge Wells.

Manh Chuong, 23, of Watergate Street, drew the attention of patrolling officers driving his Citroen Picasso on Crescent Road at around 8pm on November 21.

Suspecting him to be involved in drug dealing, police stopped and searched his vehicle.

Inside, the found 11 wraps of cocaine in the front passenger seat, more than £1,000 hidden door compartment and a mobile phone containing texts relating to drug supply.

Chuong was arrested and later charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and at the same court was jailed for four years today.

District Commander for Tunbridge Wells, Chief Inspector Peter Steenhuis, said: "My officers remain alert for visiting dealers and will always stop and search those they suspect to be supplying Class A drugs in our town.

"These offenders cause other criminals to commit crime to fund their addiction and we will continue to bring them to justice at the earliest opportunity.

"Chuong quite rightly is now starting a lengthy prison sentence."
