20 Cubs from the 6th Sidcup Scout Group raised the money at their headquarters, for Centrepoint charity, last Friday night.
The young cubs, aged 8-10 years old, were only allowed to bring a pillow and sleeping bag.
Activities included the children running a soup kitchen, creating homemade stew, making cardboard shelters to sleep in and writing postcards of positivity to put in them.
Assistant Cub Scout leader, Laura Blanchard, said “As well as being a challenge, it was a great way to understand some of the realities that young homeless people face. While also raising money and awareness to help Centrepoint tackle youth homelessness.
“We are very proud of them all”.
During their experience, the children learnt a lot about homelessness.
This year over 22,000 vulnerable young people are unaware of where they will be sleeping during this freezing winter period.
