Conservative James Brokenshire has been re-elected as the next MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup after winning the seat with 64.5 per cent of the votes and a majority of 18,952.

It was declared early on Friday morning that Brokenshire will return as Conservative MP for the constituency after he received 29,786 votes.

Labour candidate, David Tingle, came in at second place on election night, receiving 10,834 votes.

He was followed by Liberal Democrat, Simone Reynolds, in third place with 3,822 votes, and Matt Browne of the Green Party in fourth with 1,477 votes.

The Christian Peoples Alliance Party candidate, Graham Moore, won 226 votes.

Turnout was 69.8 per cent.
