Kent Police have released an appeal after a man was seriously injured yesterday in a car crash on the A2 at Darenth.

At around 6:20am on Wednesday, December 11, a black Vauxhall Astra and a white Mercedes Sprinter van were involved in a serious collision on the coastbound carriageway.

Police said that the driver of the Astra, a man in his 20s from Meopham, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was take to a London hospital for further treatment.

The crash caused major delays across South East London, with the M25 and roads around Dartford backed up for hours.

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit closed off the carriageway to investigate, and Kent Police advised drivers to expect long delays until around 4pm.
