A 50-year-old man was left with a blood clot in his brain after being beaten to the floor in a vicious broad-daylight assault at St Mary Cray Station.

Officers were called to reports of a man being attacked in the station car park at around 11.05am on Tuesday (November 26).

A Met Police spokesman said: "The victim was punched, causing him to fall unconscious to the floor.

"The victim was taken to hospital and is recovering from surgery after suffering a blood clot to the brain.

"The suspect is identified as a black man of an athletic build and around 6ft tall."
