A woman in her 80s was seriously injured in Sevenoaks when she was run over by a driver who then parked his car and fled.

The incident took place at around 7.30pm on Friday November 8 on London Road, near its junction with Mill Road.

The victim, herself from Sevenoaks, was treated at the scene then rushed to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

It is understood the driver stopped the Vauxhall Insignia at the scene, before driving into Mill Road where the car was parked and left unattended.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the driver, and are urging anyone who saw the car or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the crash, or who have dash cam footage from the area around the time, to contact them.

The investigators would also like to hear from anybody who saw the vehicle being parked in Mill Road after the collision.
