A PCSO has pleaded guilty to drunk driving and assaulting an emergency worker following a crash in Greenwich.

Police were called at 7.35am on October 26 after reports of a car crashing into a barrier on the Trafalgar Road junction with Blackwall Road.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, but one of the officers attending was then assaulted.

Later that day, Norbert Marara, 37, was charged with drunk driving and assaulting an emergency worker.

On Monday, October 28, Mr Marara appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court where he pleaded guilty to both offences.

The PCSO, who is attached to the Roads and Transport Policing Command, has been released on bail, and will appear again at Bromley Magistrates Court in late November where he will be sentenced.
