The Costcutter and Post Office in Chislehurst will reopen this weekend following a three-month refit which has more than doubled its size.

Local MP Bob Neil will cut the ribbon at 9am on Saturday, welcoming the community with a day of celebrations and sampling, including free Costa Coffee, as well as hosting a meet & greet with Eastenders’ Ricky Norwood.

The new look store, which has brought three additional jobs, will include a wide range of fresh fruit & vegetables, a greater range of chilled foods and meal solutions, over 1,000 Co-op Own Brand products and an in-store bakery.

The store will also introduce a brand-new Cook frozen food range and an extensive vegan and free-from range.

A regularly changing selection of over 300 craft beers & ales, premium wines and vape products have also been added.

Anil Patel, who has owned and operated the store for the past decade, said: “We want to thank our customers for bearing with us during our closure for the refurbishment work and hope they agree it has been worth the wait.

"I’m confident our new range and offering will really appeal to the existing and new shoppers alike. We can’t wait to hear what the local community has to say.

“As a result of more than doubling the size of the store and substantially increasing our offering we are recruiting for three new members of staff to join the team.

"Anyone interested can pop into the store and speak to the team for more information on how to apply.”
