Three vehicles crashed between Junctions 7 and 8 of the M25 (anti-clockwise) on Tuesday (October 15) bringing long delays for motorists in the area.
Highways England said that the accident took place around 4.10pm on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 4.40pm, the roads authority said that traffic jams caused by the crash stretched back six miles.
As a result of the collision on the #M25 Anti-clock, J8 - J7, there are delays of over 30 minutes above normal journey times. Queuing traffic on approach for 6 miles. The Anti-clockwise carriageway is currently held for emergency services to work at scene.

An extra 30 minutes was added to typical journey times in the area of the crash, Highways England said.
"As a result of the collision on the #M25 Anti-clock, J8 - J7, there are delays of over 30 minutes above normal journey times.
"Queuing traffic on approach for 6 miles.
"The Anti-clockwise carriageway is currently held for emergency services to work at scene," a spokesperson said.

Soon afterwards, Highways England revealed that the long delays had been caused by one of the vehicles involved in the collision overturning and blocking several lanes in the area.
"#M25 #J8 to #J7 - Traffic is currently being held while #TrafficOfficers and @SurreyRoadCops clear an overturned vehicle involved in an RTC . Thank you for your patience," the spokesperson said.
