The Co-op has confirmed that its Blackfen store will close temporarily on October 6 as part of the retailer’s £1.5 million refurbishment of the site.
The store on Westwood Lane will close for three weeks, and is due to reopen on October 31.
When it relaunches, it will offer a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy foods, meal ideas, ready-to-go hot food, award-winning wines and essentials, along with freshly baked goods, Costa Coffee machine, self-scan tills and PayPoint.
Lisa Boyce, regional manager for the Co-op, said: “We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the temporary closure will cause, but we believe that residents and shoppers will really appreciate the new store when it opens.
“The work represents a huge investment from the Co-op in to Blackfen, and highlights our commitment to continue serving and supporting the local community.”
