Police are appealing for any information that could help them to solve a robbery and assault which took place in Northfleet.

The incident happened at around 11:30pm on September 20.

According to police reports a man was walking from Northfleet train station and had got to the High Street where he was approached by someone who was demanding money.

As the victim tried to escape he was punched more than once and then chased by the suspect - who is thought to have followed the victim from the station.

The suspect followed the victim again and continued to assault the victim until he was able to steal a bag that had dropped onto the floor.

Anyone with information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact Kent Police. Officers are particularly keen to speak to a number of people who came into contact with the victim, including a driver and passenger in a black van.
