A suspected thief has been charged after he is alleged to have stolen alcohol and assaulted a shop worker in New Ash Green.
Gavin Blackston was arrested at around 8.30pm on September 7, after a police patrol stopped a van in a car park near Parrock Street, Gravesend.
The officers also seized a knuckle-duster.
Blackston, 30, of Haynes Road, Gravesend was later charged with the theft of crates of lager and assaulting a member of staff at a shop in The Row on July 8.
He was also charged with possession of a knuckle-duster, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance, and is bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 8 October.
