Officers have charged a Gillingham man with aggravated burglary and actual bodily harm following an incident in Northfleet last weekend.

Cops were called to a burglary in progress at an address in Napier Road on Saturday, August 24, at around 1.30am.

Nothing was taken from the property but further enquires led to the arrest of Alfie Riggs.

The 25-year-old of Garfield Road was also charged with criminal damage and two public order offences one of which was racially aggravated.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 26.

At the hearing he was further remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, September 23.
