Southeastern commuters are facing severe delays this morning due to urgent repairs in Lewisham.
Network Rail have identified a piece of defective track between Lewisham and Hither Green that requires immediate attention.
Disruption is likely to continue until at least 12pm today.
Until further notice, 1 line between Lewisham and Hither Green is closed.
In order to replace the defective piece of track, engineers will need to close at least 1 other line, for 2 to 3 hours.
Because of the disruption this would cause, the decision has been made to carry the work out after this morning's peak.
Southeastern have had to reduce the amount of trains through the area during the peak hours:
Trains from Ramsgate / Dover Priory to London Charing Cross / Cannon Street will be diverted to run to and from London Waterloo
Trains from Hastings to London Charing Cross / Cannon Street will be terminated at, and started back from Orpington
