In no particular order, here's some of the town's top burger joints:

Stockyard, Stockton Heath

This American-inspired barbecue smokehouse is a London Road favourite.

There's beef, chicken, meat-free and a weekly special to decide between with two options that caught the eye for those that love a feast.

Triple homicide comes with triple beef patties topped with cheese, rashers of crispy, smoked bacon, pulled pork, a runny egg and onion rings.

While the Full House includes triple beef patties topped with cheese, buttermilk chicken, pulled pork, maple bacon, hash brown and burger sauce.

There's also a gluten free menu so nobody in your family has to miss out.

Bus Stop, Stockton Heath

Who says you can't have a burger for breakfast?

Earlier this month this popular brunch spot extended their offer for their Hangover Burger due to popular demand.

For £9.95 it includes a pork pattie, sticky bacon, fried egg, hash brown and ketchup with a side portion of spicy patatas bravas.

Cafe at the End of the Universe, Warrington Market

If you're looking for the perfect movie-themed burger then you can call off the search.

The names of this foodie favourite's weekly specials provide almost as much delight as the actual food.

Pictured below is The Empire Strikes Mac topped with mac 'n' cheese whereas a French-themed Amelie burger recently came served on a croissant bun.

The menu is constantly evolving and changing but favourites on the current menu include Ham Solo for those who like their burgers simple and Oh Lord Cheesus It's a Fryer for those who can't get enough dairy.

Warrington Guardian:

Station House, Padgate

Bored of burgers with buns? We may have found just the place for you.

This Padgate pub restaurant, formerly The Stocks, now has a new menu which includes the waffle burger and the pizza burger.

Choose either beef or buttermilk chicken served on a waffle with maple bacon and maple syrup.

While the pizza burger is just as it sounds, swap the buns for two small pepperoni pizzas.

There's also a portabello mushroom burger for vegans.

Dorado Lounge, town centre

In the mood for something meat-free? This Golden Square joint tops their halloumi burger with hummus, wood-roasted peppers, tomato, red onion and chilli jam

While the vegan option comes with a plant-based vegan burger patty from Beyond Meat, with lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, vegan smoked gouda cheese and burger sauce.
