A "drunk" man who allegedly threatened to punch people at the Princess Royal University Hospital has been arrested and charged.

Rodney Raison, 52, of Keyworth Street, Southwark, caused trouble in reception, according to police who claimed he was shouting at staff.

He has since been charged with using threatening or abusive words and behaviour with the intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence.

Police said he was "still shouting his mouth off" when he was led away from the hospital in handcuffs on Friday (August 17) night.

A Bromley police statement read: "When asked to stop swigging from a high strength can of cider he was holding, he allegedly started shouting threats of violence to all the NHS staff on duty going about their work on the Friday evening.

"The injured and sick people at the reception then had to listen to him shouting he would punch people in the head.

"Fortunately hospital security thought otherwise, and detained the male until the police arrived."

Raison had not yet entered his plea at the time of publishing and we will update you with more information once we have it.
