What a weekend it's been!

Hundreds of people lined the streets on Saturday for one of the biggest events in Bridport's calendar - Bridport Carnival.

The town was bright with colour as an array of wonderful floats made their way through town, much to the delight of onlookers who packed the streets.

A variety of creative floats lined up on West Street, heading off shorly before 7pm and making their way up to the town hall and down South Street.

As well as the main parade, there was a range of events happening throughout the day.

The Wessex Military Band impressed the crowds at Bucky Doo Square and a golf competition took place at Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club.

There was plenty for children to do, with numerous crafty events around the town in the afternoon, puppet making at the Lyric Theatre, cupcake decorating at Moore Than Tea in, chocolate decorating at Aleksandras Chocolate Cafe in East Street and face painting by Caroline from Smarty Pants at the Chapel in the Garden.

Bridport Museum also got involved, offering rope making and knot tying.

Following the carnival procession, Mojo performed in Bucky Doo Square, giving the town the chance the night away to rock, reggae, soul and funk covers.

Part of West Road was closed from 4pm to 8pm, with West Street from West Allington being closed from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

South Street was closed from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, with part of South Street - from its junction with West Street to Gundry Lane - closed until 11.30pm.

Proceeds from the event go towards local causes.
