A married couple who have just returned from an "amazing" honeymoon in Bali are set to perform in a new musical comedy together.

Neil and Hannah Stevens, 40 and 31, were accepted for the parts just two weeks after their wedding and will now transition from bride and groom into the gruesomely glamorous Addams Family.

The production is being put together by the Petts Wood Operatic Society and will be hosted at the Rose Theatre, Rose Bruford College, from September 12-14.

Gomez and Morticia Addams will be played be Neil and Stevens who actually met through music.

"We have played together a few times before," Neil told News Shopper. "But this will be the first time we have been paired on stage for four years.

"It will be first time we have played husband and wife characters; I guess art imitates life."

Wife Hannah added: "I think it will be quite special.

"It will be a really good night with lots of laughs. It is so funny and I don’t think I have ever laughed so much in rehearsals.

"There is great jokes with all the classic characters but it is a slightly different story and situation with what the audience will be familiar with."

Hannah recalled once playing a character on stage who hated her now husband Neil’s character.

"I should probably say it was really difficult, but it was quite fun," Hannah laughed.

The pair, who live in Gravesend, said they wished their memorable holiday in Bali didn’t end but added that they are excited about the show.

"I joked that my wedding dress could have just been dyed black and we could have just cut the sleeves off," Hannah said.

"I could have dyed my hair black too, but I have my sisters’ wedding in a couple of months!"
