An innocent bystander was injured after being bitten by a police dog following a dramatic police chase in Erith yesterday evening.
According to Bexley MPS, officers begun their pursuit of a car which they believed to have false licence plates in Castleton Avenue shortly after 5pm on Friday, August 9.
The suspects then rammed their vehicle into the pursuing police vehicle in Bourne Road, Bexleyheath, injuring two police officers.
After escaping the vehicle, the three men began fleeing on foot before being caught by a police canine unit.
However, during the apprehension a member of the public, believed to be a teenage boy, was accidentally bitten by a police dog after one of the suspects attempted to blend in with a nearby group of onlookers.
All three men were arrested for Aggravated Taking of a motor vehicle without owner’s Consent, possession of an imitation firearm, dangerous driving, going equipped for theft and ABH.
The suspects are currently in custody at a south London police station.
