A woman has died after being hit by a motorcycle in New Cross Tuesday night (August 6).

The Met Police issued an information appeal on Wednesday morning after confirming that a woman had died after she was hit by a motorcyclist.

A spokesperson for the Met described the incident in a statement issued Wednesday.

"Police and London Ambulance Service were called to Amersham Road, SE14 at 2201hrs on Tuesday, 6 August following reports of a collision.

"Officers attended and established a motorcyclist had been involved in a collision with a car before it was involved in a collision with two pedestrians.

"One of the pedestrians, a woman aged in her late fifties was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

"She died in hospital a few hours later. Her next of kin have been informed," the spokesperson said.

The motorcyclist and driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision were also taken to hospital and were treated for minor injuries.

The Met said that no arrests had so far been made and that their inquiries into the fatal collision were ongoing.

Temporary road closures in the immediate area where the crash took place remain in place.

They urged anyone who may have been in the area around 10pm Tuesday evening to contact them with information or dashcam footage that might help police with their investigation.

"Anyone with information or dash-cam footage concerning the collisions is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 8263/06Aug or Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111," police said.
