Police were called to Bromley road yesterday following reports of concern for a man's welfare.

Officers arrived at Glebe House Road, just off Hayes Wood Avenue, shortly before 1am on Thursday due to reports from concerned residents.

A Met spokesman has said: "Police were called at approximately 12:50am on Thursday, August 1 to reports of a man threatening self harm in the vicinity of Glebe House Drive, Bromley.

"Officers attended and located the man, believed aged in his 20s.

"He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"The man’s family has been informed."

Rumours on social media speculated that an assault may have been committed but the Met have since confirmed that this is not the case.
