Police are appealing for help to identify a man they wish to speak with following an assault on a soldier that took place earlier this year.
The incident took place at 03:20am on January 31, on Haymarket at the junction with Coventry Street in south west London.
A 28-year-old soldier in mess uniform was attacked by a man and suffered injuries to his cheek bone, eye sockets, a broken nose and was left with a fractured skull as a result of the assault.
The soldier required extensive surgeries to correct the injuries to his face and detectives have issued a CCTV image of a suspect.
Anyone with any information which can help identify the man in the CCTV are advised to contact Westminster CID calling 101 and quoting Cad 675/31Jan.
