Police in Dartford are appealing for witnesses as a man has been left with facial injuries after being kicked and punched by a group of violent thugs last week.

It was reported the victim, a man in his 30s, was sitting on a bench in Hythe Street at around 3.30am on Friday, July 19 when the vicious assault began.

He was approached by two men and one woman who attacked him whilst he lay on the floor.

Several members of the public reportedly intervened during the assault and the victim was taken to a London hospital for treatment.

Detectives investigating the report believe there were a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the assault or have a recording of it.
