Transport for London’s annual closures of the A2 start today and will go until August 23.

The closures are for maintenance and safety improvement works.

They will also provide the boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley with an opportunity to perform cleaning duties, as full closures are necessary for the safety of the site workers.

Cllr Denise Scott McDonald said: "The A2 is a major thoroughfare and these important works allow Transport for London to make necessary maintenance and improvements to keep drivers safe such as renewing the road markings, repairing street lighting and pruning trees. The closures will also allow the Council to safely pick up up the litter from along the verges and improve its appearance too."

See below summary of the closures and diversion routes.
