An investigation has been launched after around 60 firefighters tackled a fire in a bin room at a block of flats in Deptford.
London Fire Brigade dispatched eight fire engines to the scene of the blaze at Eddystone Tower flats in Oxestalls Road at around 8.40pm.
Reports suggest only some residents within the building were evacuated after smoke was discovered coming from a bin chute.

Fire services later confirmed that some of the residents had remained "safely within their flats".
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters tackled a small fire in a bin room of a block of flats on Oxestalls Road in Deptford.
"Part of the ground floor bin chute was damaged by fire. A number of people left the 27 storey before fire crews arrived with other residents remaining safely inside their flats.
The fire was under control shortly after 10pm and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
