The distressed owner of a "giant rabbit" says their pet's head was cut clean off and its chest was knifed open and insides removed.
The grim remains were discovered on Wednesday, July 10, and the owner has ruled out it being a fox after no blood or fur was left behind.
Anyone who lives at the bottom of Swievelands Road into St Marys Grove in Biggin Hill has been asked to come forward with CCTV.
The owner, who posted her plea anonymously on behalf of a friend, wrote: "My giant rabbit was killed and left in my garden with his head cut off. His chest had been cut open and all of his insides had been removed.
"This was NOT a fox, there was no blood at the scene and no fur! His body was laid out as if he was sleeping and no injuries could he seen, other than what had happened to his head.
"I am hoping to hear from anyone who may still have any CCTV that lives on the bottom end of Swievelands Road into St Marys Grove.
"Local CCTV enquires have been conducted, but I just wanted to check this area too, in case it hasn’t been done."
Hayley from South Northwood Animal Rescue and Liberty told News Shopper: "I can confirm SNARL were called and attended this incident. We are urgently appealing for CCTV from the areas stated in the post.”
We have contacted the friend who posted the appeal and we will update you with further information here.
