Commuters in Dartford are being warned to expect delays following a four-car crash earlier this morning.

The A226 (The Brent) was closed off following the incident which is believed to have occurred shortly before 9am.

A Kent Police spokesman has said: "Kent Police was called at 8.59am on Monday, July 15, to a four car collision in The Brent, Dartford.

"Officers are currently in attendance and the road is currently blocked.

"Motorists are advised to expect delays and, where possible, use an alternative route."

Police have not reported any injuries as of yet.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics were dispatched to the scene and assessed a number of people for minor injuries but that nobody required further treatment. 

A number of bus routes were also diverted due to the incident including the 96, 428 and 492.
