Police are investigating after reports of an armed robbery at a Co-op in Eltham on Saturday evening (July 13).
A man reportedly threatened staff with a gun at the Co-op Food store on Westhorne Avenue in Eltham before fleeing with cash stolen from the shop.
Responding to a request from News Shopper, a spokesperson from the Met confirmed that they were investigating what happened.
"Police were called at 21:27hrs on Saturday, 13 July to reports of a robbery at a shop on Westhorne Avenue, Eltham.
"Officers attended and spoke to a member of staff who said that just after 21:00hrs, a man entered the store and approached the till.
"He is said to have threatened the cashier with a firearm and demanded he hand over money from the till.
"He took a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene," the Met spokesperson said.
"Investigations are ongoing; no arrests have been made," they added.
