A suspected Greenwich shoplifter has been charged with stealing alcohol from a Swanley supermarket.
Officers have been investigating allegations that on two separate occasions a man and a woman have entered the Asda store in London Road and stolen items including bottles of spirits.
The latest incident was reported to Kent Police on Wednesday, June 26, when it is claimed the woman also made threats to injure staff with ‘dirty needles’.
Following a media appeal, a suspect was identified and arrested on July 4, in the Bromley area.
Sean Chambers, 39, of Azof Street, Greenwich, has now been charged with theft and is bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on July 30.
