The two main suspects arrested in connection with the murder of woman in Blackheath have been released on bail as investigations continue. 

The victim has been identified as Amanda Gretton, 57, and from the Catford area.

A 49 –year-old-woman and a 45-year-old-man who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, July 8, have been bailed to return on a date in early August.

A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, July 7, has been released with no further action.

Amanda's family have been informed.

The crime scene at Prendergast Road has now been closed.

An investigation led by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command was launched after police were called to garages in Prendergast Road, Blackheath at around 17:00hrs on Friday, July 5, following reports that a body had been found inside a garage.

The death is being treated as suspicious.  Amanda’s family had reported her missing on Wednesday, May 15.

A post-mortem examination held at Greenwich mortuary on Sunday, July 7, was not able to establish a cause of death.

Enquiries into the full circumstances continue.
