An elderly woman is now fighting for her life after being hit by a lorry in Blackheath village earlier today.
A Met Spokesman has said: "Police are on scene and dealing with a serious road traffic collision outside Blackheath Train Station, Greenwich.
"Officers were called at 14:53hrs to a report that a lorry was in a collision with an elderly woman.
"London Ambulance Service attended the scene and have taken the woman, believed to be in her 80’s to a south London hospital.
"Her injuries are considered as life threatening and life changing.
"Road closures are in place.
"No arrests have been made."
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service has said: "We were called at 2:52pm today (July 5) to a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian outside Blackheath railway station, SE3.
"We sent a number of resources to the scene including an advanced paramedic.
"We treated a woman for leg injuries and took her to a major trauma centre."
The public are asked to avoid the area and anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CAD5316/05JUL.
