Bexley police have responded to at least 14 burglaries and attempted burglaries across the borough in the last week.

According to officers' reports in the latest Bexley Borough Neighbourhood Watch Update, a number of wards were targeted by burglars who haven't been warded off by the sweltering heat.

Unfortunately some of these attempts were successful, with some homeowners having cash and other valuables taken.

As burglaries continue across the borough, we have pinpointed the roads which were targeted in the last fortnight.

June 20-27 – Manor Road, Slade Green: An amount of jewellery was stolen from a property after entry was made through the back door.

June 23-26 – Longlands Road, Sidcup: A couple of sheds at the allotments have been broken into. Nothing reported stolen.

June 24-30 – Sidcup High Street: Vita Pets on Sidcup High Street had the back door forced open and as a result £1500 stolen from the safe.

June 25 – Ermington Road, Sidcup: Suspect entered the home through an upstairs bathroom window. It's believed the suspect climbed the drain pipes and made off with an amount of jewellery.

June 27 – Park View Road, Welling: Three unknown males bent the shutters of a shop allowing access to the front door. The glass lower panel has then been smashed to gain access with the suspects making off with items from within.

June 28 – The Rise, Blendon & Penhill: Attempted burglary where the homeowner was woken up by a noise outside. Spotted a white male outside her window looking in. Suspect fled in a car waiting outside.

June 28 – Agaton Road, Sidcup: Suspects gained entry to a home via the back door in the kitchen and carried out an untidy search of the property. Jewellery was stolen from the property.

June 29 – Lime Grove, Blackfen: Attempted burglary in which a conservatory door was smashed in. No entry was made.

June 29-30 – Queenswood Road, Blackfen: Non-residential burglary. Suspect broke into victims shed overnight but no items were stolen.

June 30 – St. James Way, Sidcup: The suspect is believed to have climbed the drainpipe and entered the house stealing electrical equipment such as IPads, laptops and IPhones but tripped the burglar alarm when leaving the property via the back door. Several police units including the dog unit were on scene quickly and managed to locate the suspect nearby with the help of the police dog and by tracking the phones/IPads with the 'find my IPhone' app. The suspect was arrested.

June 30 - Longleigh Lane, Bexley: A shed burglary believed to have been committed by a family member.

July 2 – B&Q, Sidcup: Suspects can be seen on CCTV forcing a fire door open before gaining access to the store and stealing drills and power tools.

July 2 – Sydney Road, Thamesmead: A room at an HMO was ransacked but no items were taken.

July 3 – Lensbury Way, Thamesmead: Victim had been alerted by a resident that a suspicious male was seen in his garage and had got into a vehicle and driven off. When victim went to the garage, both padlocks had been removed and a petrol lawn mower had been stolen.
