Police in Dartford are investigating a violent robbery in Greenhithe after two men reportedly stopped an elderly man before stabbing him in the stomach.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed that officers responded to reports of a robbery in Lovers Lane which is said to have occurred shortly before 12:30pm on Monday, July 1.

The victim, a man in his 60's, told officers that he was walking down the street before being stopped by two unknown men who demanded he hand over money.

A spokesman said: "The victim received injuries to his stomach consistent with a stab wound.

"He was taken to a London hospital and has since been discharged."

Police are now appealing for any information regarding this serious crime.
