A young man is seriously injured after reports of a stabbing in Erith.

Police were called to Frinstead Road about 3.00pm and said the incident was "non-suspicious".

A spokesman said he suffered "severe injuries" and has been taken to hospital.

Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest the man suffered stab wounds, but police did not confirm this.

The police statement in full read: "Officers attended along with London Air Ambulance and found a man in his 20s suffering with severe injuries.

"He is being taken to a south London hospital. The incident is believed to be non-suspicious."
