An Orpington man has been charged following a a police pursuit which ended in a crash.
On June 23 a Kent Police officer saw a man leaving the Co-op service station in London Road, who was carrying items reported to have been stolen.
The man got into a passenger seat of a car which then drove from the scene.
The car was pursued by the officer and came to stop following a crash in Daltons Road, Crockenhill.
William Mitchell, 29, of Berens Road, Orpington, is alleged to have been driving and was arrested at the scene.
He was later charged with dangerous driving, obstructing or resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The other suspect ran from the car following the collision and remains outstanding.
