A veterinary surgery which helped an injured deer recover from a traffic accident has thanked Bromley police officers for rescuing him.

Police found the young deer on the morning of June 5 in Polesteeple Hill, Biggin Hill, before taking him to nearby Kings Road Veterinary Surgery.

A member of the public alerted police to the wounded animal and the vets in Kings Road have now offered their "sincere gratitude" to the officers for responding.

News Shopper:

The deer is now back on his feet and has been released into the woodlands.

A worker at the vets told News Shopper: "Bromley Police brought him in with a van in the early morning.

"Our vet Gabriella checked him over and gave him painkiller injections and Henni nursed him and kept him comfortable.

"We contacted Chris from Folly Wildlife Rescue who took him. He stayed with Chris and his wife in their four acre land.

"When they get better they jump over the fence and go to the woodlands which this little guy did this week."

Bromley Police shared the thank you on social media and wrote that they hope the "poor deer" makes a quick recovery.
