Three people were rushed to hospital following a crash between a car and a lorry on the A2 near Southfleet in the early hours of this morning.

Crews from Kent Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the scene of the crash shortly after 1am on Tuesday, June 18.

Two fire engines attended the incident with crews having to use hydraulic rescue equipment to remove a car door, freeing a women trapped inside the car.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics were called to reports of a crash between a car and a lorry and treated a number of passengers.

He said: " Four people were assessed and treated at the scene and at least three of these were taken to hospital for further treatment.

"One patient was taken to Darent Valley Hospital and two patients were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
