Traffic is at a complete standstill on approach to the Dartford Crossing due to a massive diesel spillage before the tunnel.
Around twelve miles of traffic has been reportedly backed up due to the incident on the Essex side of the crossing with major delays expected for the afternoon.

Congestion is currently reported as far back as Junction Four (Orpington), and also affecting the A2 both ways at Darenth Interchange with the outbound back to Dartford Heath and the Londonbound back to Northfleet/Ebbsfleet turn off.

Highways officers have blocked the road while workmen attempt to clean up the spillage.
A statement released by Highways England reads: "There are severe delays on the M25 anti-clockwise approaching the Dartford River Crossing.
"The road is closed between Junction 31 and Junction 30 due to a large diesel spill.
"Traffic is being diverted off at J31 to follow the distributor road to J30 and then re-join the M25
"For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey. "
