A "large zombie style knife" was recovered in St Paul’s Cray this week after the public alerted police to an armed man on the street.
Police officers, who had just started their shift, saw the suspect on Cotmandene Crescent before giving chase on Wednesday afternoon.
The man was detained, and the knife was recovered after it had been thrown into a bush.
"Fantastic work from officers just now," Bromley MPS tweeted: "They’ve only been on shift less than an hour and already making Bromley safe."

A policeman told News Shopper the man was in his 20s and is well known to police for anti-social behaviour and drug and burglary offences.
He added: "The knife was swiftly taken straight to forensics to link the suspect to the knife to try and secure a charge."
