A man who desperately clambered onto a roof while running away from police officers was eventually arrested last night.
He was wanted in connection with burglary offences and police recognised him on Maple Road in Penge at 8.30pm last night.
A police spokesman told News Shopper a "short chase" ensued before the man climbed the roof of a property.
Police cars and a helicopter were deployed, and residents took to social media to report the "man on the roof".
"At approximately 10.30pm the male came down of his own accord," a police spokesman said.
One male has been arrested in #Penge after he attempted to evade officers by climbing onto a roof. Arrested for numerous offences.
